Three years.
Wow. It’s been three years, and
here we are. Still here.
I have had a great time tending to the ‘family’ at the site. The memories. Especially back when we had ratings, and I always had to keep an eye out for them and update the page properly (updated right when the ratings were released...still hoping to get that back after my vacation next month). I wish I had kept a list of all the places I was at when I did updates. From Casinos, restaurants, roadside parks, and scary places. Hey. Priorities. The update had to go out.
A couple of memorable updates were...Franklin, NC. The hotel wi-fi was crap. My T-Mobile hotspot was useless. We frantically hopped in the car and went to the McDonalds up the street. My wife ordered while I brought the laptop up, but their wi-fi was down. Grrrrrr. We drove circles searching for something that might have wi-fi. The update finally went out. A little late. Another...it might have been in Chattanooga. Again, the hotel wi-fi was lousy. No T-Mobile. It was late. We had been completely out of touch in the mountains (it might have been the day we drove the Cherohala Skyway). In a very bad part of town, I spotted a 'free wi-fi' sign at a Hardees/Carl Jr. that had just closed. I said 'I bet their wi-fi is still on'. Pitch black parking lot. I figured that if they saw us they would wonder what we were doing and call the police. I parked as far away as I could and still get a signal. 'Hit post and get the hell out of here!!!'
This site DEFINITELY isn't about me though. I couldn't get along without the awesome aid of Levin to help moderate and provide input for
changes.
A big shout out also to TOTUS and FRRD for the great idea of
creating a sports side to the site, and the work they have put into it.
Also thanks again to TOTUS for all of the great photoshopping
work.
And I add a big thank you to everyone who has contributed
$$, reiterating that it all goes back
into the site.
Continuing the thanks, thank you to all who post here,
frequent or infrequent, and also to the lurkers. I hope we have provided some laughs and
general entertainment, beyond the often heated political discussions. If we do, spread the word!!!
I have enjoyed keeping this bastion of free speech going,
and I intend to for many, many more years. Sometimes I feel like we are playing a part in the movie 'The Last Chase'. One step ahead of a freedom-hating ideology that would like to see us eradicated. Together, we will prevail.
